The New Carnival Company

The New Carnival Company (NCC) worked with children and young people across the Isle Of Wight to host their own mini carnival events!

Schools that took part across the Island include: Lanesend Primary School, Greenmount Primary School, Yarmouth & Shalfleet Primary Schools, St Mary’s RC Primary School, the Bay School, Wroxall Primary School, Broadlea Primary School, Arreton Primary School, Wootton Primary School, Isle of Wight College Pathways Students, Ryde Junior School and other non-school groups like Carni-beat Community Group and the residents of Kingston Farmhouse.

The children created their own costumes with the support of NCC artists, following the local theme of 'Colours of the rainbow' which is a nod towards all the amazing NHS and keyworkers who have worked so hard during the pandemic.

Carni Beat Community Group spent an afternoon at Wightcliff Bay Holiday Camp in Bembridge and danced, made wands, face painted and finished with a parade around the grounds, with a backdrop of the sun and sea to show off their peacock costumes.

New Carnival Company joined the Way Forward group for their Rainbow Parade, forced indoors by the wet weather, but rain never stopped play

Ryde School with Upper Chine, Isle of Wight celebrated with their Rainbow Parade.
