Welcome to the UK Centre for Carnival Arts!

Our site is designed to be a forum for the carnival community to begin discussion, debate and develop the sector and eventually carnivalise the world, from the root to the fruit. It’s also a space for those who may just be discovering carnival, offering new and meaningful ways to explore our fresh and fascinating world of music, movement and Mas.

The UK's first European summit and Carnival Trade Fair being held at the UKCCA weekend of Friday 19th and Saturday 20th March 2010 - see our Newsflash for further details!

Please also take a moment to fill in our UKCCA business survey where you can win a £100 cash prize!

This unique online hub has been built as your portal to all things carnival. Carnival has been a huge part of my life since the 80s and we hope this website goes someway to demonstrating the word, sound and power of carnival, carnival arts and its relatively unsung hero’s from around the world.

To me carnival speaks the language of the streets and in doing so speaks for us all. Carnival has the power to transform lives and has the potential to reposition towns and cities whilst providing an appropriate yet relevant platform showcasing the talents of our rich, diverse and creative communities.

Carnival in the UK and around the world transcends race, class and creed and has the power to unite and bring people together whilst passing on histories, skills and knowledge reaching places and parts that other art forms cannot reach.

If you want to be inspired why not join us, share your carnival experiences and become part of a carnival rich and vibrant economy and community. Everybody’s welcome!
