We were so excited by all the bands who joined us for our 50th Luton International Carnival!

On Sunday 24th May, we were joined by carnival groups from across Luton and beyond who all came together to make our 50th Anniversary pure GOLD! There were over 1000 participants in the parade who danced their way from Market Hill to Wardown Park, with smiles on their faces. The carnival parade made the audience and crowds smile and dance along. The procession included a beautiful mix of cultures, ages, and communities all dancing together. This helped us to fulfil UKCCA's commitments to bring people together regardless of background or ability, to our planet-friendly green initiatives using recycled materials and electric-powered sound systems and vehicles, this year's carnival was a brilliant example of how Luton celebrates its diversity whilst looking after our future. It was one big, happy eco-system of family fun that celebrated the past, the present and the future in the most spectacular way!

We were deeply honoured to welcome four extraordinary Carnival legends to lead the celebrations for Luton Carnival’s 50th Anniversary. Aunty Margaret of the St Kitts, Nevis and Friends Carnival Band, Colin Spalding formerly of Rampage Mas Band, Marilyn Gearing of Samaritans Carnival Band, and Maureen Scarlett of the Luton Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Care Forum Carnival Band each embody the spirit, resilience and creativity that have shaped our Carnival’s story. Their lifelong dedication has been exhibited by the creation of beautiful costumes. They have also uplifted communities, inspired generations and helped make Luton Carnival the cultural treasure it is today.
