National Children’s Carnival Week 2023

Saturday 8 - Sunday 16 July

Carnival organisations and artists around the country, have put together unique packages of activities for schools and youth groups for the second 'National Children's Carnival Week: 8- 16 July 2023'. This celebration of Carnival brings the magic of creative learning after such a challenging time.

The theme for National Children's Carnival Week is ‘Coast to Coast', giving children and young people the opportunity to create costumes and props and that tell stories from the majical deep sea to the high flying birds of the clif top. Accompanied by dance and music, children and young people will develop an in-school celebration that will provide uplifting experiences and enable children to reconnect through the arts.

Groups and artists will work with you to create a programme of activities and workshops for a day project or a comprehensive project through a term. Your school or group can start a programme or project at any time of the year to complement project themes and teaching or delivery plans.

There are many ways you can mark National Children's Carnival Week which is the 9th - 17th July 2022:

  • With an in-school or in-club Carnival parade

  • With an in-school or in-club celebration of the end of your Carnival project

  • Celebrate online - UKCCA would love to share your school or youth group’s work and performances on our social media channels and website for all the community to see.
