Education

Carnival Academy:

We are in the process of organising a series of exciting Carnival Academies that will cater for different groups of people with varying levels of experience and expertise in Carnival.

Workshops will vary from: introductory courses, exchange programmes with other carnival academies, gifted and talented workshops, advanced steel pan workshops, advanced carnival skills courses for those already involved in Carnival etc.

If you are an interested individual, or if you work with a group of people in any way – community project, special interest group, NEET provision, etc. then get in touch and we might be able to organise your very own Carnival Academy. (Due to funding, there are certain restrictions e.g. the majority of participants must live, work or study in Luton and be aged 16+) These free workshops are part of the Roots to Carnival project funded by Arts Council England, Learning and Skills Council, European Social Fund and run in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire.

If you are part of a carnival academy nationally or internationally then get in touch – we’d love to explore the possibilities of working with you in the future.

For more information on these FREE workshops, please contact the Education Team on 01582 437100 or email info@carnivalarts.org.uk

We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to explore the world of carnival and bring it to life for as many people as possible. If you work with young people or children and would like to do some carnival arts work please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help you now or work with you to develop projects in the future (subject to funding). Please call 01582 437100 to discuss your ideas.
