UKCCA is launching a new ‘Digital Carnival Arts project’ on 16th January 2012. The project offers a series of FREE evening courses and is a great opportunity to work with some fantastic tutors who will help participants explore:
Course One: Digital music production/performance – live sound training/production and editing/music sessions with guest DJs and lyricists/creation of original tracks [Monday evenings from 6 to 9pm].
Course Two: Carnival costume making – research and develop ideas for costumes/exploring materials, tools and techniques/production of a range of pieces [Monday evenings from 6 to 9pm].
Course Three: Dance – learn a range of styles including Latin, street, contemporary, Salsa and Capoeira/build a portfolio and record through film/photography [Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9pm].
We’re currently seeking interested Lutonians, aged 19+ who are not in full time education or training to come an participate. All of these courses will be working towards accredited awards so that those involved can use their new skills for future employment opportunities/courses. The project is funded by the Skills Funding Agency through their Adult and Community Learning Fund.
