Free Training in Carnival Arts!
Unlock your creativity with free training courses at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts, plus the chance to work towards a recognised qualification!
What’s on offer? A dynamic programme of Carnival Arts training courses for adults aged 19+ and not currently in education/training. Opportunities for costume making, dance or digital music production/performance.
Courses will take place on Monday evenings (6 to 9pm) from Monday 23rd January for the costume making and digital music courses, and Wednesday evenings (6 to 9pm) from the 25th January for the dance course.
Where? Here at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts, 3 St Mary’s Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU1 3JA
The Digital Carnival Arts Project offers:
- the chance to work with experienced Carnival artists and music producers at the unique and exciting UK Centre for Carnival Arts
- a place to learn or improve your creative skills
- opportunities to record your progress through digital filming, photography, video diaries and other media
- all equipment, materials and learning resources will be supplied
- Courses run from January to March 2012, culminating in a celebratory event/performance
- All participants have the opportunity to achieve a recognised qualification (Silver Arts Award or Level 2 Creative Crafts Awards
- Free advice and guidance about progression to further training courses and career opportunities
- Courses are free; some contribution towards travel costs and childcare costs may be available

Participants must be aged 19 or over, and not currently in education or undertaking formal training. Other eligibility criteria may apply for particular courses.
