Carnival Crossroads “East Bound” was chosen by LOCOG to represent the East of England’s and carnival’s contribution to London 2012 Festival. The project was funded Arts Council England and Legacy Trust UK, creating a lasting impact from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by funding ideas and local talent to inspire creativity across the UK.

Led by UKCCA's Creative Director, Pax Nindi, and working with local partners across 5 towns, Carnival Crossroads East Bound is bringing together local carnival artists, community groups and schools with a team of national lead carnival designers to create a carnival showcase of our history and celebrating local pride for London 2012 Festival.

Carnival Crossroads East Bound connected 100 people from each of our project locations Southend, Norwich, Luton, Ipswich and Cambridge with renowned national carnival artists to exchange techniques and design.

The project culminated in an extravaganza parade, bringing together all 500 people from across the East of England to perform in Luton’s Carnival as part of the Love Luton 2012 Festival on Sunday 8th July 2012.
