I have recently submitted an article to the Art Professional Magazine. This forms one part of a 'conversation' with Andy Grove, Chair of the Local Authority Events Organisers Committee. My response is that the arts sector needs to develop this narrative to be about the arts as a major contributor to building a healthy, vibrant big society- a discussion that takes the primary emphasis of events away from managing crowds and risk, and refocusing this on bringing people together in unity and harmony - celebration.
