About the UK Centre for Carnival Arts
The UK Centre for Carnival Arts is a home dedicated to Carnival Arts, communities, learning and enterprise. Carnival involves highly skilled art forms across music, movement and costume. These art forms are rooted in traditions spanning the globe. At UKCCA, we bring this together to inspire our courses, workshops, seminars, outreach, exhibitions showcases, galas and events.
The UKCCA is a living, breathing, creative space designed specifically to unite, engage and support carnival arts.
As a national arts charity, we are proud to be the first dedicated organisation and centre of its kind, promoting excellence within the field of carnival arts in all its professional forms – from mas, music, movement to circus, multi-media, performance and site specific street arts throughout the UK.
The UKCCA's state-of-the-art centre houses a large open multi-functional space (Mas Camp), a rehearsal studio, a welding and casting facility, teaching classrooms, shower rooms, a costume-making workshop, café and social area and childcare provision (MiniStars).
Here's a bit more about us and the work we have done over the last year, in numbers!
